I recently found out that the last Thursday of July each year is National Chili Dog Day. Seriously? They make a special day for that? And then I thought about it more, and I can definitely see why. Because chili dogs are awesome. And guess what today is?!? You guessed it! National Chili Dog Day! Chili dogs certainly bring out the kid in me. Thinking about this had me craving a cookout. I am a sucker for a good, fun cookout. Especially a cookout that includes these fun items:

Clockwise from top left: The Fancy Lamb, Roscata, Pam Wares, Mustard Seed Vintage, Once Again, Raceytay
And you know what the best recipe is for the perfect chili dog? I know it seems simple but all you need is a grilled hot dog, a fresh potato bun, some fresh, hot chili, a tad bit of mustard, and an ice cold glass of lemonade to wash it down! Yumm. Now time to plan a cookout for this weekend…
Hope you have a fun cookout planned this weekend too!
xoxo,

Less than 6 very short months ago, DawnCorrespondence made the decision to exhibit at this year’s National Stationery Show in New York City. It was actually a pretty easy decision for us, and the minute we signed the contract, we got to work planning, marketing, and designing for the upcoming show. And now..here it is! There are times we never thought it would arrive, and times we wished every minute would stand still to allow us more time to work, but overall it’s been a hugely amazing, inspiring, and fun-filled process. Thank you so much to Stationery Trends and Greetings Etc. magazines for featuring us as one of the NSS debut designers! We are honored to be included in such inspirational magazines.
We are so excited to meet some of our inspirations at the show, meet with industry representatives, and really just have a good time while doing what we love. Isn’t that what it’s all about? Doing what you love, and the rest will follow? We live by that motto every day, and it hasn’t failed us yet…and we still love it! We’ll be debuting several new designs at the show, and plan on taking an obscene amount of pictures so we can report back to you next week.
We also have a few secrets up our sleeve for our return home. Hint: giveaways, new products, and new designs! Be sure to stay tuned for updates on the show as well as updates on our new products once we return.
One last thing…did you know we’re currently in Etsy’s Voter for gifts for graduates? We’d love your vote! Our mustard and olive monogrammed stationery is featured (shown here). You can go vote here! Voting ends Thursday morning, so get on over there while you can! Thanks in advance, lovelies! (Psst….we’re giving away 3 sets of personalized, customized monogram stationery if we are in the top 5!)

We’ll be speaking to you from the Big Apple later this week!
xoxo,

Etsy will be featuring collections on the home page from their newly designed gallery forum “Treasury East” all day Tuesday, April 27th. When the announcement reached TeamT International I thought to myself (and in an email to TeamT), “Yesss, I’m going to make about 37 T-Easts this weekend!!” Sarah of Sarah John Afana and Schemata challenged myself and the team to curate “about 37″ galleries by midnight PST on Monday.

These collections must have a theme or color or something, no willy-nilly thrown together lists of randomness and they must include at least 6 teammates. While many of the team members have curated some gorgeous and inspiring galleries, the contest for the “about 37” rests on the shoulders of Sarah and myself. We have certainly taken it to the limit with our treasuries! An ongoing list of our galleries can be seen below:

One thing I enjoy the most about the change in seasons and weather, is reviving last year’s wardrobe and uncovering items that I forgot I had. It’s like a shopping trip in my own closet! It’s also fun to have a different take on what I thought was stylish last year, by purchasing updating items to pair with last year’s basics.
Without fail, each Spring and Summer, I always return to the nautical theme. It’s such a timeless style that can be accessorized to look classic, or to incorporate trends. This year, I’ve decided to add a punch of color to the traditional blue, red, and white nautical theme with pops of pink. It’s an easy way to keep the look feminine and stylish, without taking away from the nautical theme.
Here is my version of Sailor Chic…
Clockwise from top left: Zara Carpenter, La Drama Queen, Fanciness, Bayan Hippo, Tizzalicious, LiD Designs Supplies
What twist will you be adding to your nautical theme this season?
xoxo,

I’ve always been really inspired by color. I think it’s evident in my products that color is hugely a part of what DawnCorrespondence is all about. I believe that color has a strong ability to evoke all sorts of different feelings and moods. In fact, color always plays a strong role in how my designs turn out. Lately, my inclination has been to create products with primary colors. Separately, primary colors portray a much different mood than they do when they are all together. (i.e. red would mean bold, fire, confident, etc.; yellow could mean cautious, hesitant, sunny, etc.; and blue could portray loneliness, solitude, and water). Together, though, the primary colors evoke a much different feel. Together they take us back to our childhood days of coloring books, mega crayon boxes with crayon sharpeners, and playgrounds. Who wouldn’t love the look of primary colors?
In honor of my new obsession with primary colors, I want to show off some of my favorite Etsy sellers and their luscious primary creations or finds!
Clockwise from top left: Zwzzy, Pink Pooch Designs, New Moon Studio, 3dots, Hindsvik, Jess James Jake
So go ahead…borrow your little one’s coloring books and crayons for a while and get lost in your childhood memories! It may do you some good and freshen up your creativity!
xoxo,
