At DawnCorrespondence, we have been busy bees preparing for the upcoming 2010 holiday season! Yes, even in the 100 degree heat and humidity! We’ve just about finalized this year’s collection, and were so excited about it we just had to share a sneak preview of the color palette and just one of the many designs with you! And better yet…we’ll be debuting MOST of our Holiday Collection in July for a fun, fun Christmas in July sale! Keep an eye out at DawnCorrespondence, come mid-July, for our Holiday Collection debut and some fun sales and treats!

xoxo,

Etsy will be featuring collections on the home page from their newly designed gallery forum “Treasury East” all day Tuesday, April 27th. When the announcement reached TeamT International I thought to myself (and in an email to TeamT), “Yesss, I’m going to make about 37 T-Easts this weekend!!” Sarah of Sarah John Afana and Schemata challenged myself and the team to curate “about 37″ galleries by midnight PST on Monday.

These collections must have a theme or color or something, no willy-nilly thrown together lists of randomness and they must include at least 6 teammates. While many of the team members have curated some gorgeous and inspiring galleries, the contest for the “about 37” rests on the shoulders of Sarah and myself. We have certainly taken it to the limit with our treasuries! An ongoing list of our galleries can be seen below:

One thing I enjoy the most about the change in seasons and weather, is reviving last year’s wardrobe and uncovering items that I forgot I had. It’s like a shopping trip in my own closet! It’s also fun to have a different take on what I thought was stylish last year, by purchasing updating items to pair with last year’s basics.
Without fail, each Spring and Summer, I always return to the nautical theme. It’s such a timeless style that can be accessorized to look classic, or to incorporate trends. This year, I’ve decided to add a punch of color to the traditional blue, red, and white nautical theme with pops of pink. It’s an easy way to keep the look feminine and stylish, without taking away from the nautical theme.
Here is my version of Sailor Chic…

What twist will you be adding to your nautical theme this season?

I’ve always been really inspired by color. I think it’s evident in my products that color is hugely a part of what DawnCorrespondence is all about. I believe that color has a strong ability to evoke all sorts of different feelings and moods. In fact, color always plays a strong role in how my designs turn out. Lately, my inclination has been to create products with primary colors. Separately, primary colors portray a much different mood than they do when they are all together. (i.e. red would mean bold, fire, confident, etc.; yellow could mean cautious, hesitant, sunny, etc.; and blue could portray loneliness, solitude, and water). Together, though, the primary colors evoke a much different feel. Together they take us back to our childhood days of coloring books, mega crayon boxes with crayon sharpeners, and playgrounds. Who wouldn’t love the look of primary colors?
In honor of my new obsession with primary colors, I want to show off some of my favorite Etsy sellers and their luscious primary creations or finds!

So go ahead…borrow your little one’s coloring books and crayons for a while and get lost in your childhood memories! It may do you some good and freshen up your creativity!
xoxo,

As a visual person I, of course, like looking at all things lovely. I am also lucky enough to have some delightful Etsy friends who sell beautifully gorgeous work. Not only do these individuals have beautiful souls and artwork, but they also have a knack for marketing, whether they know it or not. I would recognize any of these sellers’ work anywhere – off Etsy or on. They are active in the handmade community, and have a wonderful sense of branding about them. The reason for this true success is that these sellers are passionate about what they do. For that reason, these sellers inspire me, encourage me, and motivate me to continue fulfilling my dream of passion and loveliness.
In honor of my delightful Etsy friends, I leave you with bounds of loveliness. I encourage you to take a moment to visit some or all of these beautifully designed shops. Which creations are your favorites?

(Left to right, top to bottom)
Threadrare, The Little Red Door, Seapinks, Piping Hot Papers, Paloma’s Nest, Oh My Ampersand, Oh Hello Friend, Holley & Gill, Pole Star, Get Ready Set Go, Factory Girl Ashli, The Fancy Lamb, The Peach Tree, Ruby Wren, Rikrak
I hope you enjoyed my loveliness as much as I enjoy it! What sellers do you appreciate that have lovely items?
